Miguelitos

On Saturday we drove to Houston for Brittany Hardy's wedding.  It was awesome and I'll post pictures later.

Sunday after the wedding we drove to Miguelitos, a Venezuelan restaurant near the Galleria. It was definitely worth the drive!

Can you say "hole in the wall"?

When we first got there, they said they were out of tequenos--how can anyone be out of tequenos!  After a little wailing on my part, we ordered sweet corn cake w/cheese for the both of us; I had an arepa and Michael had mixed grill and we both had fried yucca.  We were stuffed when the waiter showed up to say that they now had tequenos.  So we got some to go--two orders for us and an order for Aunt Liz, since we were stopping to see her on the way home.

YUM!

Mixed grill and fried yucca.

Mostly eaten arepa in the foreground, mostly eaten sweet corncake in the background.

Yea!  Tequenos!

Mikey wouldn't even try the spaghetti, which was a dry meat sauce on a ton of noodles.  But he did approve of the Dr. Pepper!
